It's always great when a plan comes together. And in the case of Full Circle Handbags, it's sometimes incredible that it actually does.
Roy Badgley was a manager in a local coffee shop in Richmond Virginia. Every day, he saw coffee bags heading for the local landfill and often thought about many ways to reuse them.
Julie Brooks had been a regular at the coffee shop for some time. Julie has been "creating" things all her life; first as designer in the fashion industry and later in her own interior design company. When Roy started telling her his ideas, Julie immediately began to design bags - turning ideas into test products. Some were good and some were "less than good".
When sewing bags on her kitchen table got to be too much, Julie took her designs to a local environmental products company that uses jute and burlap in products that keep sediment out of our streams and waterways. Working there was Bashar Almadin; who had been a handbag designer in a previous life in New York before relocating to Virginia. Once he saw the designs, he immediately began sewing bags of every shape and size. The combination of Roy's ideas, Julie's designs and Bashar's expertise created a company - Full Circle Handbags.
Full Cricle Handbags continues to design and develop new ideas for eco-friendly products.
